“Bright World of Metals” from 12 to 16 June 2023 in Düsseldorf

The countdown is on – companies from all over the world can now register for the four trade fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST. The leading international trade fairs with congress and high-calibre programme of side events for foundry technology, castings, metallurgy and thermo process technology will be held in Düsseldorf from 12 to 16 June 2023.

New technologies, rising demands made on energy efficiency and the desire for a careful handling of resources: the changes occurring along the entire value chain for industries do not stop short of the global foundry, metallurgy and thermo process technologies either. How can enterprises manufacture in a sustainable and efficient way? How can they connect their plants better, optimise production processes while maintaining their social responsibility at the same time? Which fundamental technological changes exist in the various branches of the metal industry? How do foundries and the metal-working industry remain attractive employers for professional talents compared to other sectors of industry? These and other questions will be discussed by sector experts at the most relevant international communication platform GMTN 2023.

“Our trade fair quartet is well known as the gateway to the world market. It is only here in Düsseldorf that decision-makers, experts, supplier to, and users in these industries can obtain a complete overview, exchange ideas and design trends for the markets of the future at not one but four trade fairs,” explains Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, Global Portfolio Director at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “We all benefit from investment in new, green technologies; this is also reflected by our ecoMetals campaign, which has long been a model for success and has become an integral part of the “Bright World of Metals”. Eligible for participation in the campaign are all exhibitors who take such environmental aspects as resource savings, energy efficiency and climate neutrality particularly into account for their innovations. These topics especially appeal to trade visitors – which, of course, also holds true for the young talents so important to these industries. With our trade fairs we can therefore also make a certain contribution to fighting skilled labour shortage,” says Friedrich-Georg Kehrer in view of the coming events.

Plants, products, forward-looking solutions and concepts revolving around foundries, iron, steel and non-ferrous metal industries, machinery suppliers, mechanical engineering or the automotive industry: every four years companies fly their flags at the trade fairs on site in Düsseldorf. From 17 January 2022 exhibitors will be able to register online for the four trade fairs under the following links:

GIFA – since 1956 THE PLATFORM for encounters and business
GIFA, the 15th International Foundry Trade Fair with Technical Forum, looks back on a long tradition in the Düsseldorf trade fair portfolio. Since 1956 it has played a prominent role in the industry as a global communication platform. In 2019 it scored points not only with top results (980 exhibitors from 46 countries, approx. 45,597 trade visitors from 127 countries), but also with a veritable firework display of innovations. The event then focused on such mega themes as “Additive Manufacturing” and “Industry 4.0”. GIFA 2023 will again cover almost the complete global ranges in the fields foundry and melting plants, refractories technologies, machines and equipment for moulding and core making, moulding sands and moulding auxiliaries, sand preparation and reclamation, gating and feeding, casting machines, knock-out, fettling, finishing, pattern and die making, control systems and automation, environmental protection and waste removal as well as information technologies. In 2019 international trade visitors travelled to GIFA in Düsseldorf primarily from India, Italy, China, Turkey, Japan, France, Russia, Spain, Austria as well as South Korea.

METEC – International Metallurgical Trade Fairs with ESTAD Congress
Forming an integral part of the trade fair quartet is METEC – for the eleventh time now. Equipment for iron, steel or non-ferrous metal production will be presented alongside lines for casting or forming steel, equipment and components for metallurgical plants and rolling mills or steel mills. With over 17,820 visitors (66% of international origin) and 618 exhibitors from 39 countries the latest METEC also posted record results.

THERMPROCESS – innovative thermo process technology at the 13th International Trade Fair and Symposium
THERMPROCESS can look back to an even longer tradition than METEC: as early as 1974 the international trade fair with symposium was already a guarantee for innovative thermo process technology. Technology trends and solutions revolving around the production and operation of industrial furnaces, heat generation plants and thermal processes provide visitors with an ultimate degree of information. The trade fair’s ranges include industrial furnaces, industrial heat treatment plants and thermal processes, equipment for special uses, components and equipment as well as other supplies, occupational safety and ergonomics. 5,923 trade visitors, over 50% of whom came from abroad, and 337 exhibitors from 34 countries were hosted in the exhibition halls.

NEWCAST – all things cast
NEWCAST, the 6th International Trade Fair for Castings, has completed the Düsseldorf quartet of trade fairs since 2003. As the world’s leading trade fair for castings it proves the highlight for its industry every four years posting positive results (2019: 3,404 visitors, of these 67% of international origin, 433 exhibitors from 32 countries). Applications for castings range from vehicle manufacturing, aviation and aerospace industries to machine and plant manufacturing not forgetting medical device technology.

The quartet of international trade fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST is accompanied by a programme of versatile side events comprising numerous seminars, international congresses, symposia and lecture series.
