From January to June 2023, China's steel pipe production was 48.67 million tons, a 12.2% year-on-year increase. This included 31.32 million tons of welded steel pipes, up 11.4% year-on-year, and 17.35 million tons of seamless steel pipes, up 13.8% year-on-year.

In recent years, there has been varying growth in major downstream industries such as natural gas, crude oil, crude oil processing, pipeline construction, shale gas, electricity, real estate, coal, coalbed methane, and machinery manufacturing, with automobile production being the only exception, experiencing a slight decline.
